Dear Visiting Friends,
We know that looking for a new
church family can be an intimidating process, whether you are new to our area
or seeking to get re-connected in a gospel-centered local church. Please
allow us to take a few moments of your time to get acquainted with our family
and heartbeat for Christ’s church. My wife and I met while we were
finishing up our post-graduate studies at Pensacola Christian College, and in
the fall of 2008, we were married and came on staff at Anchor. After two years,
we were sent out from Anchor as church planting missionaries. It has been our
privilege since then, to lead the Anchor Baptist Church in Cape Coast, Ghana,
from infant church plant to an independent, self-supported, locally pastored
church. In the early spring of 2018, God called our family back to our home
church. While this decision was difficult especially for our five children who
have known only Ghana, we have been excited about the opportunity to continue
the Lord’s work in Maryland. Our time overseas has stretched us in so many
ways, but more than anything, it has reinforced in our minds the absolute
necessity of passionate biblical exposition, mentoring of young Christians in
the faith, and careful articulation of sound doctrine. It is our desire through
gospel-centered preach and teaching to equip the saint to do the work of the
ministry in our church and local communities. We look forward to getting to
meet you and if God sees fit to direct you to Anchor, see Him mature you in the
faith. For more discipleship related resources, please feel free to check out our blog Ministry Musings or contact us personally, at pastorporcherabc@gmail.com
